✓ 32 characterful chess pieces
✓ Two distinctive opposing armies
✓ Building, playing and displaying in one set
✓ A thoughtful gift for chess fans and hands-on hobbyists

🧩 The Fun Starts With the Build

Before the first pawn moves, there’s a board to bring together and castle towers to assemble.

Spread out the pieces, work on the details and watch your chess set take shape. Build it as your own afternoon project, or share the experience with someone who enjoys making things.

There’s something satisfying about sitting down to a game on a set you’ve helped put together.

From the first building block to the opening move, there’s plenty to enjoy.

👨👩👧 Make Time for a Game

An after-dinner challenge. A quiet Sunday afternoon. A grandparent passing on a favourite opening move.

This set gives those everyday moments a place to happen.

Choose your army, take turns and enjoy the small conversations between moves. There’s time to think, time to laugh and always the possibility of a rematch.

A little friendly competition can become everyone’s favourite part of the evening.

🛡️ Meet Your Army

On one side, blue-and-white medieval-inspired knights. On the other, a red-and-black Roman-inspired legion.

Each army brings its own colours, shields and headpieces to the classic chessboard, with six familiar roles represented by distinctive characters:

• King: A commanding leader with a statement crown or crest.

• Queen: Royal styling and distinctive headwear give this powerful piece its own presence.

• Bishop: Plumed helmets and staffs create a recognisable silhouette.

• Knight: Armoured horse figures bring character to every unexpected move.

• Rook: Castle towers with brickwork details and battlement tops guard the corners.

• Pawn: Shield-carrying soldiers form the front line.

Choose the army that catches your eye—and decide how you’ll lead it.

Questions You May Have

Is this a playable chess set?

Yes. The themed pieces represent the six standard chess roles—king, queen, bishop, knight, rook and pawn—for traditional two-player chess.

Does the set require assembly?

Yes. This is a building-block set, so assembly is part of the experience before you arrange the armies and begin playing.

How many chess pieces are there?

The set has 32 chess pieces, divided into two opposing armies. This refers to the playing pieces, rather than the total number of individual building blocks.

Do I need to learn a different game?

The army theme changes the appearance of the pieces, while the standard chess roles and moves remain the same. If you’re learning chess, another player can help you match each character to its role.

Can I display it between games?

Yes. The assembled board and themed armies can be arranged on a suitable desk, table or shelf, ready for your next match.
